help what would cause sudden profuse sweating, fainting or seizure?
I had a scare last night. My boyfriend and I were laying around watching tv. We had eaten dinner about 2 hours previous. I sat up to go to make some popcorn. While we were discussing this he suddenly said he was hot and started sweating profusely. I felt his forehead and it was wet. He said he didn’t feel well and got up to go to the bathroom. Half way there he turned and started back towards me. He didn’t look right. I moved towards him to see if he needed help and he kind of shook, his eyes rolled back and lids blinked and he collapse in my arms. I’ve never seen anyone faint or have a seizure so I am not sure what it was. I rolled him on his back and saw that he was breathing regularly and his heart was beating. I asked him to open his mouth and he did at my request. I was worried about him swallowing his tongue if it was a seizure. But after he responded that no longer seemed like it would be a problem. I got cold water and a cold wet towel and came back and he was on his stomach so I put the towel under his head to try to cool him down. He lay on the floor for another 5-10 mins. Then got up on the couch. After a few more mins he said he was fine.
I’m on the computer now trying to figure what may have caused this. He is 45 yrs old. His sister has a history of seizures (he says from a crack on the head when she was young) don’t know if this is correct or just something he was told when he was young. His dad died from a heart attack at a young age when he was young himself. His mom died from brain tumors at a relatively young age also.
2 weeks ago he mentioned getting some of the same symptoms while at the dentist with his son. He was watching him get shots to have his teeth pulled. At the time he got the sweats and weak feeling but not the fainting. He is not squeamish in the least bit being a hunter but we both had written it off to the fact that he was watching them give his son shots. Now that does not seem to be the fact.
I know I need to talk him into seeing a doctor but that is going to be a very hard task. He says if something is wrong he’d rather not know. Please don’t get me started on this subject. I know the importance but it is a very touchy subject which we argued about after wards. When his mom was diagnosed with her tumors (she seemed healthy to him at the time) it was only months later that she passed. He is convinced that if she hadn’t done the treatment she would have lived longer. He says at least she wouldn’t have been sick the last months. Anyway, I’m trying to figure out what these symptoms could be a result or precursor to. Any insight would be very helpful. I’ve told him he is being selfish that if something happens to him he’ll be gone and his son sisters and I are the ones who will have to deal with it. That it is not fair to us but he just shrudges it off. I know it’s from fear of hearing bad news and I’m trying to deal with that but in the meantime is there something else I can do?
Do you have any words of advice, words of reassurance or scripture that can help me?
Let me give you a little bit of background information on my situation.
I have a very close family friend named Brad who is practically a second dad to me. Almost 2 years ago, he was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called chondrosarcoma. He has had 3 massive surgeries in a 4 month span, 2 1/2 months of stomach bedrest and hundreds of hours of physical therapy. He has also gone to Germany(we live in the U.S.) 3 times in order to get experimental treatments because there is very little information on this type of cancer. This man has lived WAY past what the doctors said that he would and our entire family/church family is very grateful for that. We have had several benefits for him and our entire church is praying for a miracle. Resently, one of his lungs is 100% tumor and the other is 67% tumor, making breathing extremely difficult. He is having a very difficult day today and some people aren’t expecting him to make it through the night. I am supposed to go see him tomorrow and I’m very very scared on what tonight and tomorrow might hold. I know it is even worse because my dad is having second thoughts on letting me go see Brad tomorrow. Brad is one of the most religious, kindhearted, giving, and god following men I know. He has an amazingly strong wife and two beautiful children. A girl who is 2 and a boy who turned 5 today. We are all very close and all struggling together.
I have been raised in a church my entire life and I know that god has a plan for everyone even though we cant always understand it, but i can not express how badly i want to know why god is letting all of this happen. Brad has had god first in his life, so why is god hurting him so much? Im begging god to heal Brad. His wife, children, and family all need him desperatly. There arent any other treatments avalible for Brad because he is too weak. This situation is all in god’s hands.
If you have any words of advice, confort, scripture, ect. please tell me. As I am typing this tears are running down my face. I dont think im going to be able to sleep tonight considering the circumstances.
Thank You in advance and God Bless
If I may clarify on a small part- In no way shape or form am I blaming the all powerful God that saved all of us.I am simply confused and shocked that he is allowing this cancer to slowly kill Brad. I called Brad a week ago and he made it clear that if its god’s will for him to go to heaven, he will do so. He is worried about his family and what will happen to them. Brads brother died several years ago so his family has already been through alot.
Thank you for all the answers so far and please keep them coming
I am 14 and I understand my dad’s worries but I would much rather tell him everything i want to and be heartbroken then regret my entire life on not telling Brad how i feel towards him and to give him a huge hug.
i need help. my friend has a malignant tumor in her uterus?
i was the size of a golf ball and they did a biopsy and it turned out to be maligment. they did a laser treatment and it shrunk to the size of a peanut shell. a couple weeks later they did an ultrsound and part of it grew back. they did another biopsy and it was maligment. now they are doing another lasrer treatment. do these tumors keep growing back? how man treatments until they decide to do chemo? are there any other options? this is all very scary and we dont know much about it. any shared information or personal experiences would be SOOOO appreciated. thank you
Math/Geometry help, please?
I need to compare the measurements of benign tumors before treatment and after treatment. Can anyone tell me: If the measurements of one were, say, 7.6 cm x 5.9 cm x 8.1 cm THEN, and the measurements NOW are 6.6 cm x 5.4 cm x 8.2 cm, how do I figure this calculation to find the ENTIRE AREA of each, so that I know exactly how big it was THEN, how big it is NOW, and thus I can figure out how much it has shrunk? Thanks to all who answer this seriously!
